Community edition 4.2.b upgrade path

Hello everyone,

We have a 4.2.b Community installation, with a MySQL database.

What is the recommended upgrade path?

The Upgrade Documentation appears to refer to 5.2 or higher.

Also, we deployed a containerized 7.x instance with MySQL as an upgrade PoC and noticed that the schema is different than our existing database that supports the 4.2.b version.

Are there any database migrations tools available?

Thanks. We are totally new to Alfresco and any suggestions would be appreciated.

The recommended path is:

For ACS4.2 ---> ACS5.2  ---> ACS7.x 

There are significant changes until ACS5.2 at the core of the repo so you have follow the path. For more info review the upgrade paths here. You can't go to ACS7.x from ACS4.2.x
