After try 4.2f on XP 2003 Ubuntu they all have same problem, but finally I solved use same method.
Just install jdk-7u55. Remind you that do not install jdk-8. and the in 'alfresco manage tool' start all. try localhost instead of 127.0.0.1

first running of http://localhost:8080/share is very slow. In my test, I went to sleep and next day it appeared. (in 2003 10mins about, using this method, windows 2008 tomcat service started up but cpu will almost 100% and website could not be visited after I weak up)
