Permissions configuration fix for v1.1 and v1.1.1

Question asked by paulhh on Dec 21, 2005
We have found a permissions configuration issue with 1.1 and 1.1.1.  As a consequence, we will be making a 1.1.2 release available that includes the configuration change.

The issue is apparent in FTP, WebDAV and CIFS access.

If you already have these versions installed, then it is possible to fix the issue by modifying one configuration file as follows:

- Edit the model-specific-services-context.xml configuration file

  For Tomcat bundles this is in:  tomcat\webapps\alfresco\WEB-INF\classes\alfresco
  For JBoss bundles this is in:   jboss\server\default\conf\alfresco

- Change the first letter of the following bean references to uppercase:
The main content of the model-specific-services-context.xml should now contain the following

   <bean name="fileFolderService" class="org.alfresco.repo.model.filefolder.FileFolderServiceImpl" init-method="init">
      <property name="namespaceService"><ref bean="namespaceService" /></property>
      <property name="dictionaryService"><ref bean="dictionaryService" /></property>
      <property name="nodeService"><ref bean="NodeService" /></property>
      <property name="copyService"><ref bean="CopyService" /></property>
      <!– NOTE: using Big SearchService until AR-279 is completed –>
      <property name="searchService"><ref bean="SearchService" /></property>
      <property name="contentService"><ref bean="ContentService" /></property>
      <property name="mimetypeService"><ref bean="mimetypeMap" /></property>
