LDAP wildcard search

Question asked by hm on Jul 7, 2006
For the LDAP import process can I specify a wildcard in the searchBase property? For example I am trying to do something like this instead of creating multiple beans for exporting users in ldap-authentication-context.xml

<property name="searchBase"><value>OU=Users,OU=*,OU=Regional Offices,OU=US,DC=research,DC=ocm</value></property>

I get the following error:

Caused by: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: [LDAP: error code 32 - 0000208D: NameErr: DSID-031001BD, problem 2001 (NO_OBJECT), data 0, best match of:
        'OU=Regional Offices,OU=US,DC=research,DC=ocm'
]; remaining name 'OU=Users,OU=*,OU=Regional Offices,OU=US,DC=research,DC=ocm'
        at com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtx.mapErrorCode(LdapCtx.java:3010)

Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks.
