I already got mysqld running, figure thats the error for stopping pid but alfresco doesn't start mysql either, so just kept it that way.
When it hits the starting OpenOffice service it just hangs there, doesn't do a thing afterwards. Small log below…

apocolypse@gyr:/opt/alfresco-1.3.0$ sudo ./alf_start.sh
/opt/alfresco-1.3.0/bin/alfrescoctl.sh : mysql  started
Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /opt/alfresco-1.3.0/mysql/data
STOPPING server from pid file /opt/alfresco-1.3.0/mysql/data/gyr.pid
060813 10:01:28  mysqld ended

apocolypse@gyr:/opt/alfresco-1.3.0$ Using CATALINA_BASE:   /opt/alfresco-1.3.0/tomcat
Using CATALINA_HOME:   /opt/alfresco-1.3.0/tomcat
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: /opt/alfresco-1.3.0/tomcat/temp
Using JRE_HOME:       /opt/alfresco-1.3.0/java
Using JAVA_OPTS:       -Xms128m -Xmx512m -server -XX:CompileCommand=exclude,org/apache/lucene/index/IndexReaderstart,doBody -Djava.util.logging.manager=org.apache.juli.ClassLoaderLogManager -Djava.util.logging.config.file=/opt/alfresco-1.3.0/tomcat/conf/logging.properties
Starting OpenOffice service…

EDIT: Forgot to add, Alfresco doesn't show up in browser, just to add to my question also, why does Alfresco lose it settings? I mean I get it to work have it running, go home, come back and its down again…and I have to restart this whole process again.
