CIFS problem: error getting local IP addresses

Question asked by milprog on Dec 1, 2006
Hi all

I have troubles starting my CIFS server on 1.3.0 running on a linux-vserver. I get the error

ERROR [alfresco.smb.protocol] Error getting local IP addresses
java.lang.NullPointerException
        at org.alfresco.filesys.smb.server.SMBServer.getServerIPAddresses(SMBServer.java:775)
        at org.alfresco.filesys.smb.server.SMBServer.run(SMBServer.java:479)
        at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:595)

I tried to insert the line
      <bindto>192.168.193.46</bindto>
into my "CIFS Server" config in file-servers.xml, but this did not help.

However, when I do a netstat -lnp, the CIFS ports are in use.

Is there an easy way to specify the local IP address for the CIFS server in some configuration file?

Thanks for any help.

Regards
–Marcel
