Moving file via CIFS throws renaming exception

Question asked by nrubdarb on Apr 14, 2008
Hi Folks,

Running Alfresco 2.1 Community on Windows XP. Added a fair amount of content via CIFS, so far no problems. Got a couple of standard content rules on the space in question - add versioning and extract metadata.

My problem: I am using CIFS to navigate and decide to pull two PDFs out of one folder and drop them in the parent folder.

One goes OK, the second one does not, and I get this error in the Tomcat log:

13:49:01,577 ERROR [alfresco.smb.protocol] Closing session due to exception Rename file \User Homes\Unmanaged\Translation_PR\PDU\White
        at org.alfresco.filesys.smb.server.repo.ContentDiskDriver.renameFile(Con
        at org.alfresco.filesys.smb.server.NTProtocolHandler.procRenameFile(NTPr
        at org.alfresco.filesys.smb.server.NTProtocolHandler.runProtocol(NTProto
        at org.alfresco.filesys.smb.server.SMBSrvSession.runHandler(SMBSrvSessio

After this I need to log off an on since Windows refuses to see the CIFS mapped drive any more.

Anyone know what might be causing this?
