Changing the database to MySQL

Question asked by melkor.kp on Feb 21, 2007
To change the database I installed mysql with the following command:

apt-get install mysql-server

After that you should change the directory to the following and create the
tables:

cd /usr/local/alfresco/extras/databases/mysql
mysql -u root -p < db_setup.sql

Next I deleted the files especified in /usr/local/alfresco/README_mysql.txt:

rm -r /usr/local/alfresco/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/extension/custom-db-and-data-context.xml
rm -r  /usr/local/alfresco/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/extension/custom-db-connection.properties

rm -r /usr/local/alfresco/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/extension/custom-hibernate-dialect.properties

So, the last thing is to delete the content of /usr/local/alfresco/alf_data with:

cd /usr/local/alfresco/alf_data
rm  *

And if we restart alfresco + mysql is running.

/usr/local/alfresco/alfresco stop
/usr/local/alfresco/alfresco start

And then alfresco is running on http://localhost:8080/alfresco/
