Can't get basic install to work on Ubuntu 7.1

Question asked by sfwalter on Sep 10, 2008
Hi,

I am trying to get a basic install of Alfresco up and running on Ubuntu 7.10.  I have run the installer "AlfrescoEnterprise-2.2.0-Linux-x86-Install.bin" but no luck.    It went through the configuration wizard and I select hsqldb as the database.   To be honest when I went through the wizard it seem to process pretty fast almost like nothing really happened behind the scenes.

When I go to http://localhost:8080/alfresco I get nothing.  The app server isn't even running.

I then tried to run alf_start.sh but I get this:  sh: Can't open @@ALFRESCO_DIR@@/alfresco.sh

Any ideas?  I don't see any log file so I don't know where to start.

Thanks, Scott.
