file-servers.xml

Question asked by quiksilv on Nov 14, 2008
Is there a definitive guide for setting up CIFS with an AD server? All I want to do is get CIFS to authenticate with my active directory server using NTLM.

Ive moved ntlm-authentication-context.xml.sample to ntlm-authentication-context.xml and put in my domain controller as:

       <property name="servers">
           <value>MYDOMAIN\192.168.123.123</value>
       </property>

By default the file-servers.xml comes with:
<config evaluator="string-compare" condition="CIFS Server">
….
      <authenticator type="enterprise">
      </authenticator>

I change this to:
      <authenticator type="alfresco">
      </authenticator>

and behold everything *seems* to work. Whats does <config evaluator="string-compare" condition="Filesystem Security"> do, and do you need an authenticator section in here as well?
