Content generation in Alfresco

Question asked by steuni on Aug 23, 2007
Hello,

I have a question about content generation. I'd like to be able to generate documents (Word or HTML or PDF) from templates. The documents should have fields pre-filled in with properties belonging to the space in which they're being created. Also, the other fields should be filled in with a form. How can I do this ?

I've looked at WCM's web forms but I can't find a way to generate content directly into the Alfresco repository. The content is generated into the user's sandbox. Is there a way to use forms to generate content into the Alfresco repository ?

Ideally, the user would create a new space, this would automatically create 5 html documents which contain data stored in the space's properties. Then a form would be used to fill in the remaining fields of the HTML documents which would then be transformed into PDF.

What would be the best way to achieve something like this ?

Thanks,

– Jerome
