Launch Out-Of-The-Box Dialog

Question asked by skontopo on Dec 19, 2008
Hi all,

I would like to create a custom UI action placed in the document browse section.
The action should launch the out-of-the-box "edit content category" dialog (called "editNodeCategories").
However, I probably have to make some modifications to the underlying bean (EditNodeCategoriesDialog), in order to get the current node/content.
Can someone please give me a clue, because I have tried a lot of things in order to get the current node and nothing seems to work.
For example, I replaced the following:

String nodeRef = parameters.get("nodeRef"); // retrieve parameters
ParameterCheck.mandatoryString("nodeRef", nodeRef); // make sure nodeRef was supplied
this.node = new Node(new NodeRef(nodeRef)); // create the node
with the following

this.node = this.browseBean.getDocument();
After invoking the action, the browse.jsp page is simply reloaded and no dialog is launched…

Thanks a lot in advance!
