Alfresco Server
Operating System: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2
Database: MySQL 5.0.45-community (NOTE: Came w/ RHEL 5.2 installation)
Java: JDK 1.6.0 Update 11
Open Office: OpenOffice.org3
Current Version: Labs 3 Final
NOTE: Alfresco will be installed by and run under a NON-ROOT account. Configuration has been applied to forward requests on standard root-privileged ports to non-root ports, per the Running SMB/CIFS from a normal user account wiki.
Client PCs
Operating System(s): Windows XP Professional SP3(80% of client PCs), Windows XP Professional x64 SP2 (20% of client PCs)
Login Authentication: Windows Server 2003 Active Directory server
Web Browser: Firefox 3.0.5

I would like to use the "Add Network Place Wizard" to add the Alfresco WebDAV server.

I can access WebDAV through the my Firefox 3.0.5 browser (http://myserver:8080/alfresco/webdav).

However, the capability to add the Alfresco WebDAV as a Network Place (to allow file uploads via WebDAV) is not possible:
— 1) My Computer –> My Network Places –> Add a network place
— 2) Add Network Place Wizard –> Next
— 3) Select "Choose another network location" –> Next
— 4) In “Internet or network address” field enter: http://myserver:8080/alfresco/webdav –> Next

The Client WebDAV wiki page prompted me to do research and I found the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article that seems to outline the issue:

I then executed Method 2 in the Resolution section of that article and am STILL unable to perform the above 4 steps to add the Alfresco WebDAV server as a Network Place.

This leads me to believe that there is some sort of group policy setting, network/domain setting, or perhaps overriding configuration on the Web Extender Client installed on my Windows XP Professional x64 PC.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or comments you may have. Thank you very much.
