User issue

Question asked by swiss_mike on Jan 27, 2009
Hi,

I'm having an issue with one particular user. I have a username like this which can not be removed…

  john_smithd3c60f79-dca5-11dd-8018-4f665094a77

When I try to remove it I get the following message:

Unable to delete the User object associated with the Person. This is not an error if an external authentication mechanism such as NTLM was previously active.

Where has the random string come from in the first place? I'm assuming that its the UUID thats generated but why do i see it in the user name. And why can't I delete this user?

I'm not using LDAP or NTLM or anything clever at the moment so im not sure where the issue is.

Cheers,
Mike
