Virtualization on a different machine than Alfresco

Question asked by sbzoom on Nov 5, 2007
Hello.

I would like to run my virtserver on a different machine than the one I am currently running Alfresco on.  I'm guessing this would be possible but I don't seem to be able to get it to work.

Alfresco Server: 10.4.4.34
Virtualization Server: 10.4.4.36

As far as I can tell, I don't have to really do anything to the Alfresco server except put wcm-bootstrap-context.xml into tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/extension/ and restart.  I have been watching the logs and the service looks for the Virtualization server when I click into a Web Content Space.

This is what I get:

14:47:15,327 WARN  [org.alfresco.web.config.ClientConfigElement] Virtualisation Server not started - reverting to default IP: 127-0-0-1.ip.alfrescodemo.net
14:47:15,327 WARN  [org.alfresco.web.config.ClientConfigElement] Virtualisation Server not started - reverting to default port: 8180

What do I have to change configuration wise in the Virtualization Server?  I have changed tomcat/conf/alfresco-shared.properties to:

# Name of the host running AVM
avm.remote.host=10.4.4.34

# AVMRemote API
avm.remote.port=50500

And this is what I get in the logs:

So, what am I doing wrong?  Why doesn't the Virtualization Server seem to be able to tell the Alfresco serer that it is running?

Thanks a lot.
