PHP Template Oracle query

Question asked by noundo on Jan 23, 2008
(I move this post from User->Web Client)

I want to create a custom view that shows some information stored in a oracle database.
I have installed PHP module but I cannot find information about PHP version, and oci8 support.
PHP module support query to oracle database? It's the best solution? There's another way to generate the template with external data?

I've been testing.

I've tried a simple connection
<?php
$conn = oci_connect('TEST', 'TEST', 'ORACLE');
?>

I get this error:
Warning: A link to the server could not be established. java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver cannot be cast to javax.sql.DataSource [oci_connect]

Digging the www I have found this:
>I think your problem is that you're specifying the wrong Driver
>Implementer. If you're going to use the "DataSource" mechanism for
>JDBC connections, you need to use the
>oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource class as the Driver Implementer.
>Alternatively, you can change to "DriverManager" as the connection

>the driver implementer.

How can I configure that in Alfresco?
