WCM 2.1.0 - No Java compiler available

Question asked by gvandyk on Jan 30, 2008
I am busy going through the WCM tutorial. Everything works fine except if I want to Preview the website, I get the following error:

org.apache.jasper.JasperException: No Java compiler available
   org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServletWrapper.handleJspException(JspServletWrapper.java:460)
   org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServletWrapper.service(JspServletWrapper.java:367)
   org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.serviceJspFile(JspServlet.java:329)
   org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:265)
   javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:803)
   org.apache.catalina.ssi.SSIFilter.doFilter(SSIFilter.java:132)
   org.alfresco.filter.CacheControlFilter.doFilter(CacheControlFilter.java:187)

This happens in the virtual server, not the webapp.

I am using jdk1.6.0_02 on Windows Vista.

The usual culprits for the error "jasper-compiler.jar and jasper-compiler-jdt.jar" exists within the common/lib folders.

Previewing some of the subfolders of the example application does not cause this problem, but I assume that no compilation needs to take place for these subfolders.

Can anyone point me in some direction on how to solve this problem?

Thanks
