Hi guys,

I finished during these days the initial implementation of the Alfresco Repository Connector for Apache ManifoldCF [1].
This component is not yet on the trunk of the project but it will be release in the next version of ManifoldCF (0.4 that will be released on December 2011).

The goal of the usage of this connector is to cover all the Alfresco installations based on versions 2.x and 3.x that don't yet support CMIS and another important goal is to support all the Alfresco specific features (aspect, etc…).

Now we have a problem about the dependency of the Alfresco Web Service Client (alfresco-web-service-client-x.x.jar) that is released under LGPL license.

This license is not supported by Apache and we need to ask to Alfresco if it possible to release this single artifact under a different license that is supported by the Apache Software Foundation [2].

Taking a look at the wiki page of Alfresco it seems that it is possible to ask for similar requests [3].

Could you please guide me on the right track to achieve this goal?
Thank you for any support.
