JSON date format is not iso8601

Question asked by dkane on Jan 9, 2012
Hello
We are writing a rich browser-based application with Alfresco 3.4d as a backend.
Although http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Alfresco_REST_Design_Guidelines#Representation_of_dates_in_JSON declares that public APIs should use iso8601, we don't see that in practice.
For example, when calling  metadata service /alfresco/s/api/metadata?nodeRef=workspace://SpacesStore/6305fbf6-7ff0-4d87-8bef-86ec282416e9&shortQNames=true ,
we get JSON response with datetime field like this : "Sun Dec 25 23:00:00 GMT+03:00 2011"
We expected to see "2011-12-25T20:00:00.000Z" instead.
Please help to understand how can we force ISO8601 format for any JSON serialization in REST services. The global parameter for the whole Alfresco web-app would be best for us.
Thank you !
