smb shares (alfresco ce2.2)  doesn't work with kernel 2.6.32

Question asked by i5513 on Mar 4, 2010
Hi,

I don't know if this is the correct forum, please tell me where should I post this info (thanks)

My linux installation wont work anymore with alfresco smb share. I reported it in linux kernel bugtracker [1]. They told me about there is an extrange value returned by the server:

From dmesg with debug activated:
SMB    Trans2 Response, FIND_FIRST2, Error: Unknown SRV error (ff)

The Alfresco version is the comunity edition 2.2, and it is configured against ldap. With kernel 2.6.30 it works, so it is like more a kernel bug but maybe there are a bug in alfresco code. I now I should upgrade to 3.2 version … I don't know if the upgrade will be sweet .. is it easy and safe , or better install a new alfresco and migrate ?

I think this is not the better site to tell this, but I'm lost …

Thank you very much
