How to do hot backups on Alfresco 4.0.d?

Hello all,

I want to create a hot backup script for Alfresco 4.0.d.  What is the hot backup procedure for Alfresco 4.0.d?  I've searched but the online steps I've found are not current with 4.0.d (e.g. instructions cover Lucene and not Solr, directories are different, MySQL is mentioned instead of Postgresql, etc.).  Have I missed this info somewhere?  I've spent a lot of time, but I really can't tell how to do this with the information I've seen.  Can someone send the necessary procedure?

Just to share my results from searching online, I saw 3 steps required for older Alfresco versions and the order of operations is important.  If these steps can be applied to 4.0.d, here's my best attempt at rewording the instructions, along with my current questions.

1. Refresh the backup Solr indexes
(how to refresh Solr indexes?  I've only found the lucene procedure online)
2. Backup the Postgresql database
pg_dump (which database/s to dump?  or is pg_dumpall required to dump all databases?)
3. Backup the file system
(what directories in 4.0.d?  the entire alf_data directory?  is that safe with alfresco running?)
4. (Any other steps?)

I really hope this is possible with Alfresco 4.0.d.  Thanks.

Regards,
Shaun
