does your document actually support the property you are trying to set, i.e. does the type of the document actually define a property of the name you've provided? Since this is a custom property, you should have defined a custom content type with your custom property on the Alfresco server side, specialize a document uploaded via CMIS to that type and then you should be able to set the property.
