Moving alf_data to NAS question (Alfresco 3.0)

Howdy all,

So, I did search the forums and did find some useful info but I didn't find everything I needed to know and hence- my question.

Alfresco has become near mission critical to our business so I need to make sure we get this migration of the data right.

Basically, Alfresco Version: Labs - v3.0.0 (Stable 1526) has been running fine on a Red Hat Enterprise 5 Linux server for sometime.  Our Alfresco Doc Repository has grown to such an extent I need to migrate the data in there to our new NetApp FAS 2020 NAS.

My questions are:

1) Do I need to shut down Alfresco first before moving alf_data?

2) Is alf_data (and its subdirectories) all I need to move to the NFS share mounted off the NetApp?

3) Then is the only thing I need to change in the Alfresco configuration:

[Fri Jun 18 | root@babbage:/usr/share/apache-tomcat-6.0.20/webapps/alfresco]$ grep "dir.root" !$
grep "dir.root" /usr/share/apache-tomcat-6.0.20/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/repository.properties
dir.root=./alf_data

4) Then fire back up Alfresco and I am good to go?

Simple as that?  If so, that rocks!

Would love to hear the groups wisdom on this type of move.

Thanks and much appreciated,

jg
