Virtual server security realm

Question asked by ed-0x1b on Aug 8, 2010
I am running Alfresco and the virtual server on the same system with only remote (internet) access. I am concerned that only the person that is pre-viewing their work from the virtual server be able to access that content on the virtual server.

My question is: does the virtual server inherit the security realm from the Alfresco server? and more generally - Is the virtual server "Internet safe" as in: shares the security realm of the Alfresco Explorer service? or no? Is there a checklist for hardening an Internet facing Alfresco?

Thanks for any hints/suggestions - once I get the system working, I plan on putting the Tomcats behind an Apache server before a hand-off.
