Basic CIFS configuration for my network places

Question asked by wickedbuzz on Aug 26, 2010
Hello,

Would one be so kind and tell me how to setup alfresco repository to be available to every user through my network places?

My configuration is:
windows server 2003 (fresh install with no server roles set up)
alfresco version is: community 3.3g (fresh installation with untouched settings and repository)

what i managed to do so far is to connect to repository using windows explorer… pc name is 'core' so to connect to alfresco repository i do the following:
Start -> Run

\\corea\
or
\\corea\alfresco
if i want to jump right into the repository

now, it all works like a charm on local pc but when i try to connect to repository from another pc in LAN it just doesnt work.. it behaves like the repository folder is not shared… i keep gettin that famous error saying:

\\corea\alfresco is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Access is denied.

i tried replacing 'core' with it's ip adress and still no luck.. it just doesnt work for some wierd reason :S

is any1 else having the same problem? any help is more than welcome :S
