Cancel lock for a node where I am the owner

Question asked by drocco88 on Nov 29, 2012
Hi there,

Scenario:

User A creates a node "test" (simple text for example). User B check out "test" (lock it). User A is not able to cancel the check out (unlock) the node even if it the creator.

OOTB: <globalPermission permission="FullControl" authority="ROLE_OWNER"/>

Looking here  http://docs.alfresco.com/4.1/topic/com.alfresco.enterprise.doc/concepts/secur-DynAuthRoles.html

"ROLE_OWNER is assigned to the owner of a node. If there is no explicit owner, this role is assigned to the creator. This role has all rights on the owned node."

The working copy has both cm:owner and cm:creator set to who lock the node, so the original creator (User A) cannot cancel the check out.

I know I can work around this but just wondering the reason behind this…

Many thanks,
Rocco.
