Problem configuring email SMTP in Alfresco 3.3 Ubuntu OS

Question asked by paiyyavj13 on Jan 28, 2011
Hi,
we have installed Alfresco 3.3 Enterprise edition on Ubuntu 10.04 .

We are unable to configure Outbound email, which is stopping us by sending invitation to the users in Sites.

If we added the line->  email.server.enabled=true , alfresco does not allow any user to login. pls help.
We have added the below properties in 'alfresco-global. properties' file.

#
# Outbound Email Configuration
#————-
mail.host=172.16.0.80
mail.port=25
mail.username=anonymous
mail.password=
mail.encoding=UTF-8
mail.from.default=alfresco@alfresco.org
mail.smtp.auth=true

#
# Alfresco Email Service and Email Server
#————-

# Enable/Disable the inbound email service. The service could be used by processes other than
# the Email Server (e.g. direct RMI access) so this flag is independent of the Email Service.
#————-
email.inbound.enabled=true

# Email Server properties
#————-
email.server.enabled=true
email.server.port=25
email.server.domain=satyam.com
email.inbound.unknownUser=anonymous
