Share upload timeout at 1 hour

Question asked by rmeske on Jul 21, 2016
Hello,

I have posted this issue in Jira (https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-21684) but wanted to check if anyone else has encountered this and has a work around.

In the Share interface, when a session timeout occurs, files continue to upload. If there are multiple files being upload, at 100% they display an error. If there is one file, or with multiple, when the last file completes the user will be taken back to log in with no error shown. Those files that completed after the timeout do not get processed and are lost.

As a work-around, since several of our users have slow upload speeds over the internet, we increased the session timeout in apache-tomcat/webapps/share/WEB-INF/web.xml to 6 hours. This allowed multiple files to be uploaded that combined took more than 1 hour.

However, if a single file takes longer than 1 hour it will not be processed and is lost.

Is there a setting other than the session timeout that will allow a single file to take longer than 1 hour?

Regards,
Ron
