Document 1.0 version gets modified when uploading new version.

Hello and good day to everyone.

The text I originally posted was me assuming CMIS was not to blame. Here's a modified version, since I cannot delete this post.

I am using Alfresco Community version 4.2.f with DotCMIS 0.6.0.0 for document storage and version control. The problem is that after version 1.1 of a document is created, v1.0 is modified in some way. This only happens to word documents and only if the original version is created through DotCMIS.

The problem I face is as follows:

So to reproduce my problem one needs to:
1) Create a password-protected Word 2007 document - Foo.docx.
2) Using DotCMIS create a FooDocument.
2) Using DotCMIS or Alfresco Share create a new version of FooDocument (upload the same file).
3) Download FooDocument version 1.0 and compare its MD5 to Foo.docx (the file that was initially uploaded).
4) Try to upload the same file once again, as version 1.2
After uploading the same file thrice, MD5 checksum of v1.0 will not be equal to MD5 of v1.1 and v1.2, checksums of v1.1 and v1.2 will match. v1.0 will lose password protection, while v1.1 and v1.2 will be password-protected.

Is this a known issue? Or am I doing something wrong?
