Apex Systems is looking for a Java/Alfresco Developer in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. Our client (a major insurance company) is looking for a Java/Alfresco Developer to join their team in a full-time, permanent position. Document Management Application Developer

Description: Document Management Application Developer

Reports to: IT Manager of Applications


Primary Duties

Develop applications in accordance to Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, industry best practices and department policies and standards

Analyze business and functional requirements in order to collaborate with the Application Architect and propose and document technical solutions

Create and execute functional integration test plans

Utilize communication, analytical skills and problem solving skills to support the development process and respond to technical queries from team members and customers

Ensure project deliverables are met according to specifications



Skills/Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or other related field

·         At least three years of experience with the following:

o   Java development experience, AJAX, CSS, JavaScript, HTML and Spring

o   Microsoft SQL Server, including data design and optimization, stored procedures, cursors, XML queries, indexing, locking and relationships

o   Software Configuration Management (SCM) packages such as Subversion



Experience with the following:

·         JSP, JUnit, Eclipse, Hibernate, SOAP/REST, Ant and UML

·         J2EE – Java, .XML, XSLT, XPath, Hibernate, Spring, JSP/Servlets

·         Understanding of web/application servers (Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic, Websphere)

·         Google Web Toolkit (GWT)

·         Maven, Jenkins (or similar continuous integration server), Eclipse and Git

·         Knowledge of content management concepts, CMIS, best practices and information architecture

·         Scanning solutions (such as Kofax/Ephesoft)

·         Document management (such as Alfresco, Documentum or Sharepoint)

·         Experience with the implementation of business-to-business interfaces and service-oriented architecture preferred

·         Must stay current with the latest development technologies and trends

·         Desire to rapidly learn and implement new technologies

·         Excellent problem solving and debugging skills required

·         Experience using online community resources to research technical solutions

·         Insurance industry knowledge a plus

·         Ability to deliver quality deliverables against specified timelines

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills
