Using embedded JLAN library as stand-alone

Recently I learned that JLAN library is no longer supported as a stand-alone product. It is part of the Alfresco application. I found alfresco-jlan-embed-6.2.jar inside share.war. Unfortunately I couldn't used it as drop-in replacement for the old JLAN 6.0.0 stand-alone version because class is missing.

Is there somewhere documentation, how to use embedded JLAN?
