Changing History levels in production...

Is there any downside if you change the history level from audit to full (or full to audit) in production? Will it only impacts new changes and records?

Changing the history-level to full in a process-engine configuration that is already installed will throw an exception when the engine is booted (history-levem property differs from the one when engine schema was created). This is to prevent inconsistent state (especially runtime processes could get affected).
