Detecting cancellation of user task

Question asked by mhanrahan on Aug 19, 2016

We have hooked the activiti task system for our solution to drive Task based reporting.  We have it so we send an event to our reporting system upon task creation and task updating / completion.

The one scenario that we don't have handled is when a timer boundary event (or some other form of event, be it an error from a parallel execution or a signal) would cancel the active user task.  Is there any form of method (similar to a custom behaviour) that could be hooked into so that we could fire off the event when this happens?
