Alfresco CE 5.2 not starting as service on system restart

Question asked by hiten.rastogi on May 4, 2017

Hi,

I am using CE 5.2 on my Ubuntu 16.10 machine and I am facing issues with the starting of my installer after the system reboot through the service created during the installation. I can see that the service file is created under /etc/init.d but it has missing LSB tags due to which the corresponding links in the /etc/rc.d directory aren't created and the system has no ways to know when to start my installer.

I have found the solution for this but I still want to know why this is happening.

The solution for the above is to add the missing LSB tags and then run the command  sudo update-rc.d <script_name> defaults

The missing LSB tags are

### BEGIN INIT INFO
# Provides:<script_name>
# Required-Start: $local_fs $remote_fs
# Required-Stop: $local_fs $remote_fs
# Should-Start: $all
# Should-Stop: $all
# Default-Start: 2 3 4 5
# Default-Stop: 0 1 6
# Short-Description: Start/stop Alfresco
# Description: Start/stop Alfresco
### END INIT INFO

Please let me know if any one has solution to this issue.

Thanks
