Meaning of Memory allocations showing in System Summary?

Hi,

I was checking system summary "alfresco/s/admin/admin-communitysummary".In system information its showing some information regarding memory. 1. Free Mememory 2.Maximum Memory and 3.Total Memory. Anyone please advice what does these 3 sections means? I believe this is something related to JVM memory allocation. Also please advice how much we need to reserve for the better performance of alfresco . I am using 5.1
