BPMN elements missing in APS Editor (Messageflow, Intermediate Link Event)

Jump to solution

Hello,

I have worked with other bpmn editors and miss two features in the alfresco process services editor.

1. Do you have an element for a message flow between two pools?

2. Also, is there something similar to an intermediate link event in alfresco process services? This links to another bpmn model, which will be triggered and started with this link event.

Thank you very much.

Hi @shmalik

1. AFAIK APS does not support "All" the bpmn2 constructs, the paletter consists of widely used contructs including some proprietory ones.  If you are looking for strictly bpmn2 models - try Activiti 7 it contains modeler an impl. from bpmn-js

2. Usually for external triggers, signal/message intermediate throwing/catching events works best.

Hope it helps.

Regards,
Abbas

Hi Abbas,

although you answered my question, I want to add new information which I stumbled across while exploring the functions of APS.

There are some more elements supported, but not displayed in the default BPMN editor. I found this out while importing a BPMN file with a message flow and a datastore element. Both elements were displayed in the BPMN editor in APS.

Another proof that these two elements are actually supported gave me a look into the stencil editor. When you want to edit or create a new stencil, you can then see the elements on the left side in the palette. But I have no idea why it does not show them in the actual BPMN editor then. I tried to save a new stencil with these elements, but when I want to use this stencil in the BPMN editor, the elements are still not visible.

Do you know how I can access and use these "hidden" elements?

Thanks.
