Notifications in APS

I have a use case where a form field has to be validated by a REST Call, and if the validation fails the user needs to be alerted and prompted to try again. Currently, the form is initially filled as part of the process initiation, so if the validation fails it just creates a new task under 'Tasks' and the user often doesn't realise. Is there a way to flash an alert telling the user to go check 'Tasks' or that the validation failed?

what does your process look like? Can you share your process model flow or  a simple representation of the components that you are using in your process model?
